God’s Holy People Jeremy Bell 1 Peter 2:4-10 Sermon Theme: In His great mercy, Jesus Christ – the chosen and precious One – is building believers up into a spiritual house to offer spiritual sacrifices to God. 1. God’s People are a Spiritual Dwelling for God Main point of the vv. 4-5: As you keep on coming to Christ in worship and prayer, you yourselves are progressively being built up into a spiritual temple, a place where God more and more fully dwells as we offer up spiritual sacrifices. II. God’s People are His Possession *Chosen Race – God’s people are a new race. *Royal Priesthood – We are sons and daughters in service of the King! We are royalty of His family line! *Holy Nation – we have a new identity. *God’s Possession – You are a people for God’s own possession. III. God’s People Live to Proclaim Christ
