12.1.24 - The Spirit Helps Us As God Works For Good
The Spirit Helps Us As God Works For Good Romans 8:26-30 Sermon Theme: Anticipation of something good is a great motivator. That’s exactly what Paul is doing in our text. He is reminding the church in Rome of their heavenly hope in order to encourage them to persevere in faith through the difficulties and trials of life. He is building faith in their hearts by reminding them of the glory that is promised to come! Questions for Discussion/Application: *Consider taking time to read Romans 8:26-30 out loud. What initial insights or observations of the text do you have? *What do you find most encouraging and/or comforting about this passage? *How can considering our heavenly hope, encourage and motivate us as we make our way to heaven? How can the hope of what is to come strengthen us now amidst the trials and difficulties of life? *How does the knowledge that the Holy Spirit is praying for you (verse 26) minister to you? *Read Romans 8:28 out loud together as a group. What situations in your own life do you in particular need to apply Romans 8:28 to? *Consider listening to the Sovereign Grace song, “All Things” together. Lyrics can be found here. What truths from that song most encourage and strengthen you? *Consider taking time to pray, asking God to help us to live day by day with our eyes fixed on our eternal hope knowing He is working all things for our good.
